Education

NOPGC hosts luncheons, virtual seminars and one all-day conference covering a wide array of topics of interest to planned giving professionals, at both the basic and advanced level. Presentations are delivered by local as well as national speakers.

Throughout the year, NOPGC will hosts several joint educational seminars with organizations such as the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Greater Cleveland Chapter and the Estate Planning Council of Cleveland.  Additionally NOPGC offers a 1/2day basic seminar for anyone new to the field.  Members receive reduced rates to all programs.

Planned Giving Primer

This year's basic primer is designed to give participants a fundamental working knowledge of the various planned giving instruments, the myriad of assets available for gifting, and other useful information to help you be an effective planned giving professional.  For seasoned gift planning professionals, this session will be a good review of the planned giving tools.

The basic primer covers:

Wills and bequest administration

Charitable gift annuities and charitable trusts

Planned giving reporting for stewardship and tracking

Crafting gift policies

Prospect management

Working with volunteers

Networking

Opportunities are presented to meet the local community of gift planners, development professionals, consultants, attorneys, trust officers, accountants, insurance and financial professionals. Membership includes both novice and veteran gift planners from organizations of all size and scope.
